• Your mobile phone number when you initiate or opt into SMS communications;
• Your responses to civic issue and voter priority questions;
• Your voter profile and issue priorities generated from those responses;
• Information you voluntarily provide through our website or civic app;
• Location or address information you voluntarily provide to identify relevant electoral districts and ballot information;
• Information about how you interact with our civic tools, including quiz completion, ballot exploration, links opened, and sharing activity; and
• Technical information necessary to operate, secure, and improve our services.

We may use information to:

• Provide the Black Horizons Voter Quiz and civic app experience;
• Generate personalized civic issue priorities and voter profiles;
• Connect users with relevant ballot, candidate, election, and civic information;
• Understand how people use our civic engagement tools;
• Evaluate and improve our technology, research, and organizing strategies;
• Respond to requests for help or information; and
• Communicate with users when they have provided the appropriate consent.

Participation in the Black Horizons SMS program is voluntary. Message frequency varies depending on your interaction with the service. Message and data rates may apply.

You may reply STOP at any time to opt out of SMS communications. You may reply HELP for assistance.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data, mobile phone number, or personal information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

SMS consent is not transferred, sold, rented, or provided to third parties for their own marketing.

We may use service providers that help us operate our technology and communications infrastructure, but information provided to those providers is used to deliver services on our behalf and not for their independent marketing purposes.

We may share information with service providers when reasonably necessary to operate our civic tools, communications systems, databases, analytics, or other services on our behalf. We may also disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect our organization, users, or services.

We do not sell personal information collected through the Black Horizons Voter Quiz or SMS program.

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect the information entrusted to us. No electronic transmission or storage system, however, can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Participation in the Black Horizons Voter Quiz and civic app is voluntary. You may choose not to answer optional questions or provide optional information.
